GEISSLER TUBES

We offer six Geissler tubes housed safely in a stand with power supply that provides for a simple means of viewing the gas discharge spectral lines.
It comes with an on-off switch.
These tubes are intricate glass tubes in different shapes, formed into all sorts of twists, bows and spirals.
They have an electrode at each end and are filled with different gases.
When the set up is turned on, the current flowing from the electrodes through the gas makes the gas glow. The gas determines the color of the glow.
Students and teachers will be fascinated to reflect upon the past, when these geissler tubes were used to demonstrate the new science of electricity and were novelty items, made in many artistic shapes and colors.
