GLASS FRICTION ROD

Length =30 cm approximately.
Diameter =13mm.
Students can appreciate how the rod gets positively charged when rubbed against silk, which acquires a negative charge.
Further on placing one charged rod next to another charged rod, one can demonstrate electrostatic repulsion (of similarly charged rods) or electrostatic attraction (in the case of oppositely charged rods).
