EQUILATERAL PRISMS, GLASS

  • Our prisms come with non-optically worked glass.
  • They have polished faces. The edges are slightly beveled.
  • Being equilateral prisms, all the sides are of the same length and they are connected via three similar angles of 60°each.
  • Equilateral prisms are also called as the dispersion prisms and are ideal for wavelength separating applications. Students will be delighted to see light refract into miniature rainbows.
  • Thus, these prisms are used in a lot of scientific activities, right from the most basic experiments that involve observing the manner in which a glass prism breaks white light into colored light; to more advanced projects that use this principle as the very basis to further study light in other ways, such as the behavior of colored light or the heat of light.

Our equilateral prisms come in various sizes:

  1. Equilateral Glass Prism: Dimensions = 25 × 25 × 25 mm.
  2. Equilateral Glass Prism: Dimensions = 38 × 38 × 38 mm.
  3. Equilateral Glass Prism: Dimensions = 50 × 50 × 50 mm.
