FALLING BODIES APPARATUS

  • For demonstrating the unimpeded superimposition of motions.
  • It consists of a launching rail with a returning spring.
  • Two steel balls (19mm in diameter) are used as test bodies.
  • The launcher has an L-Section, with holes for locating the two steel balls which act as projectiles.
  • The launcher is released by a push button and upon triggering, one ball starts to fall downwards and simultaneously the other is launched horizontally.
  • Both balls hit the ground at the same time.
  • The launching mechanism is mounted on a wooden block (Dimensions = 180x60x30mm3), which may be clamped by bench and has a convenient storage pocket for the balls.
  • The apparatus comes complete with two steel balls.
