CROSS-SECTIONAL MODEL OF THE SPINAL CORD WITH SPINAL NERVES

  • This module will focus on the spinal cord, including its structure and how it functions: as a conduit for motor information, which travels down the spinal cord, as a conduit for sensory information in the reverse direction, and finally as a center for coordinating certain reflexes.
  • The spinal cord is formed by a central channel surrounded by “gray matter” with an outer layer of “white matter” as shown in this model.
  • The anterior median fissure, anterior column, lateral column and the posterior column can be clearly seen.
  • The model is delivered on a base and numbered with an English key card.
